I just noticed that you can't upload custom network image with the Stalker component. I thought I suggest that this be implemented in the future. Other than that I think the stalker module and component is brilliant.

Hi,

That was one of the future additions I was hoping to add.  In the meantime, you can upload them via FTP to /media/stalker/icons. Any icons in that folder will appear in the drop down list when you add a new link to a social network site.

Thanks
Nick

Hi,

this is a great component. But I would like to add custom icons. i tried puttin my custom icon it the "media/stalker/icons" folder through the ftp but permission was denied. So i tried to change the permission of the folder but states that operation is not permitted. How can I upload my custom icons and how do allow the custom icons to be uploaded to the right directory?

Thank you.

Hi, ahh.. the dreaded file permissions error! :)  Simply put, this usually happens when the ftp service runs under a different user to the web server service.. or something along those lines :)

Generally, you would use the FTP layer in Joomla to make sure the user rights are correct.  In the past, I've used the eXtplorer component from Joomla to be able to fix permissions on the folders.  So if you can't change them through FTP, install eXtplorer, and then navigate to the folder, and change the permissions accordingly. You should then be able to upload to the /media/stalker/icons folder.

Hope this helps
Nick
