I cant seem to get the icons to show up. its just a line in almost looks like a pipe icon. Anyway heres the website.

http://www.precisionsquad.org

Also you may need to hit F5, these clowns Im hosting with are getting better, but Im still not pleased with there service.

Thank you

Also side bar issue, What I was trying to do also, is because this site is going to be for a core group of people who play an online game called Aces High, I wanted to take the furball area when they click on a name for bios, and have your module come up in that page as opposed to the front page. Essentially if the person has that type contact it would grab that information in a bloggish type of area about that person. That was the idea anyway. Im new to PHP and Joomla, so this is the first site ive created. Ive been in systems for a long time, but never attempted this type of undertaking.

Ok its up now, what it appears to be is the Group Part.

That part, when i dont associate it with group works. But I'm looking to use this for mulitple people, and leaving itconfiguarbale for others who dont write code to be able to manage a certain portion. I was hoping to lump it off and divide it so that when a name was clicked only that users specific info would come up using the groups.

Anyway If it doesnt make sense, Ill try to do my best to explain with video.

Cheers and thanks again

Hey Floats!

I guess you have a couple of options...

The first would be to make sure you have the latest Stalker Component that I released a couple of days ago, version 1.1.  This introduces Groups.  What you could do, is go and create a new Group for each person, and then add 'My Social Links' for each person, assigning it to the relevant group.

From here, you can either create a Module for each person, entering the relevant GroupId in the Module Manager, and then assigning that module to the persons page.  Or on their Bio page, you could use the Plug-in, and just put group=n after the { stalker }.

The alternate option would be to use something like Community Builder for Joomla, and that way you don't have to create individual pages and sections for each person, CB takes care of it all.  I've also got a CB version of Stalker.

Let me know if you have any further issues!

All the best
Nick

Hi Nick,

Thanx for getting back in touch so quick. I am using the 1.1 version which has the groups, so Ill have to play with it a little. See why it wasnt coming up. But Im gonna check out CB. THat may be a better solution. I'll keep you posted and thanks for your help.

Cheers mate.

ps, if i have this version installed, and I use your CB stalker, do I need to uninstall the 1.1, or are they able to co-exist.

Hey,

No, you shouldn't need to uninstall 1.1. They should co-exist :)   However, the CB version doesn't use the component, it just uses parameters for the userids & usernames.

Oh yeah, I game! :^)

Although I'm only a console gamer... I don't do PC!  I'm a mac man, and I vowed never to put games on my desktop computer otherwise I'd never get any work done :)

So I limit myself to Xbox 360 gaming.  Call Of Duty Moden Warfare & Fifa 10 are my main vices at the moment.
