Minor Update: Stalker 1.1.1

I've just uploaded a new version of the Stalker Component, Module and Plugin.  Don't forget the Bundle if you want to download them all in one hit!

This is only a small update which wraps the output code in a DIV tag and improves the CSS handling.  I've also updated the stylesheet to work better with the links & icons.

If you have had problems with borders appearing around the icons, this shoud resolve that issue now.

Update: Stalker 1.1.0

Sorry about the continual batch of updates... although this time, if you only use the module in standalone mode, then there's no real need to update to this version.

Version 1.1.0 adds a new view to the component, Stalker Groups.  By setting up groups, and assigning your links to those groups, you can setup a module for each group.  For example, you want a follow me module for each of your family members, or you may want to break up your social network sites from music sites.

A new Group Id parameter has been added to the (pointless?) front-end of the component in order to restrict links shown to the group specified.

The module has been updated with a new parameter, Group Id.  Simply enter the id of the group and your module will only display the links within this group.

A new parameter has also been added to the plugin.  Just add group=n before the closing squiggly bracket, and only the relevant links will be displayed.

Update: Stalker 1.0.2

I've released a new version of Stalker, 1.0.2, which makes a few changes to get through validation, plus a few small improvements. The module now lets you choose different layout styles: icons, list and text.  I've also added a Stalker Bundle option to the downloads page, which includes the component, module and plugin in convenient zip file!

I'm now planning the next updates, so if you have any ideas, please let me know!

Stalker for JomSocial Issue

It seems that one of the last releases of JomSocial broke the Settings window and it's no longer possible to scroll down the various settings. I've spoken to Azrul Support, and they have told me this has been fixed in the new version 1.5 which SHOULD be out very soon!

I'm sorry about the problems, but there's nothing I can do to rectify it as it's a JomSocial issue.

New: Stalker gets component & plugin

stalker_buttonWell, it's taken a while, but here it is... the Stalker component is now available for download!

The Stalker component works in conjunction with the latest version (1.0.0) of the module. Simply install the component, set up your links, and switch the new UseDB flag in the Stalker module config.

Currently, there are two options in the component, 'My Links'  and 'Social Networks'.  The Social Networks option is a master list of social networks. When installed, the Social Network table is populated with the same networks that the Stalker module supports, however, you can now add any links that I haven't yet added.  If you want to link to Yahoo Groups, just add a new Social Network using #id# as the place holder. If you want to replace the default icons, or add your own, then ftp them to the /media/stalker/icons folder.  All the default icons are 64x64 pixels, however, they can pretty much be any size you like, however I wouldn't go any smaller.

'My Links' is where you setup YOUR links.  Just add a new one, select the network, enter your username/id/whatever, the icon, the target (leave blank to open in new window) and away you go.  Once you've entered all your links, you can order the links however you like.

I realise I could've achieved the same with a single list, but I'm thinking about extending the component later to possibly import/download extra networks from a central location.

While competely pointless, there IS a front-end component but it was more for my own education than anything else.  Similarly, I've created a plugin which again was for my education rather than anything else.

Anyway, head on over to the Downloads section to get the component, and as always, let me know if there are any problems or suggestions.  Component & Plugin instructions are on the Stalker page.
